GÜNTER KRINGS BIOGRAPHY

Born in Wuppertal 1936, Günter Krings set out on his „photopictorial“ activity in the early 1960s. With his works he has taken part in more than two hundred exhibitions in Germany and abroad, and has become known to a wide public through numerous publications, record-cover, calendar projects, painting and sculptures. His works are in the collections of the German Parliament, Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, Fotomuseum Dr. Gerlich at Burghausen, Von-der-Heydt-Museum, Wuppertal and multinational corporations and private collections. Since 1994, Krings has been a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie. The main weight of his artistic oeuvre of recent years has been on „staged“ photography but with clearly discernible traits from his painting and sculptural work.
